The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury makes sandbags available free of charge for parish residents, but only during the threat of severe weather with the risk of flooding. Sandbag locations will be announced when the locations are open and stocked.  Generally, these are the emergency sandbag locations, but they are subject to change.

June 17, 2026 -- Due to the reduced threat of heavy rainfall in the forecast for Calcasieu Parish, all Police Jury operated sandbag locations will close at noon today, June 17.

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury opened sandbag locations earlier this week to help residents prepare for the potential impacts of a developing weather system in the Gulf.

Parish officials will continue to monitor weather conditions and forecasts closely. Should conditions change, sandbag locations will be reopened as needed.

Residents are encouraged to continue monitoring forecasts from the National Weather Service and local media outlets for the latest weather information.

For updates and emergency information, visit calcashout.com and follow the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury on social media.

When opened, sand and bags are available at the following locations:
