Social Media Policy
At the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, we encourage open and respectful discussions on our social media platforms. However, to maintain a positive and constructive environment, we reserve the right to remove posts that violate our guidelines. The following are circumstances under which we may delete content:
- Hate Speech & Discrimination – Posts containing threats, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, or any form of harassment based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion, disability, or other protected categories.
- Violence & Threats – Content that promotes or incites violence, self-harm, or harm toward others.
- Misinformation & False Information – Posts spreading false or misleading information that could cause harm or confusion, including but not limited to public health, safety, and election integrity.
- Spam & Promotional Content – Unsolicited advertisements, self-promotion, or excessive posting of repetitive content that disrupts discussions.
- Profanity & Inappropriate Language – Use of vulgar, offensive, or obscene language, including sexually explicit content.
- Privacy Violations – Posts sharing personal or confidential information without consent, including but not limited to addresses, phone numbers, or financial details.
- Illegal Activity – Any content that promotes or discusses illegal activities, including drug use, fraud, or other unlawful conduct.
- Off-Topic or Disruptive Behavior – Comments that derail discussions, spread unfounded conspiracy theories, or create an unproductive environment.
- Impersonation & False Representation – Posts that falsely claim to represent another person, organization, or entity without authorization.
- Copyright & Intellectual Property Violations – Unauthorized sharing of copyrighted material or intellectual property without proper attribution or rights.
Enforcement & Appeals
- Posts violating these guidelines will be removed without notice.
- Repeated violations may result in the user being blocked or banned from our platforms.
- If you believe your content was removed unfairly, you may contact thoefer@calcasieu.gov or jpbooth@calcasieu.gov for an appeal.
