Waterworks District No. 8 of Wards 3 and 8, has issued a boil advisory, effective immediately, for Goos Ferry Road due to a water main break.

Residents in the affected area are advised to disinfect all water before consuming it (including fountain drinks) making ice, brushing teeth, or using it for food preparation. Water should be brought to a rolling boil for one full minute in a clean container.

The one-minute boil time begins after the water reaches a rolling boil. To improve the taste of boiled water, residents may shake the water in a clean bottle, pour it from one clean container to another, or add a small pinch of salt to each quart of boiled water.

The district will lift the boil advisory once it receives clearance from the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals’ Office of Public Health.
