Utiliserve, a contractor hired by Waterworks District No. 8 of Wards 3 and 8 (LeBleu Settlement), will conduct fire hydrant inspections, flushing, and testing beginning Monday, Nov. 3.
This process will ensure that all hydrants are functional and meet firefighting requirements for the district’s Property Insurance Association of Louisiana fire insurance rating.
Testing will continue for approximately two weeks.
The flushing may cause discolored water. If you see the Utiliserve crews in your area, limit water usage in your home, if possible. This will reduce the chance of getting discolored water in your home.
If you do experience discolored water in your home, run your tap for around two minutes to see if it clears. If this does not resolve the problem, call 337-721-3754 and the district will take steps to flush the discolored water from the lines. Residents with any questions or concerns can also call this number and ask for Carie Davis.
