“Movies Under the Stars” will present the 2026 animated Pixar comedy “Hoppers” on Friday, July 17, at Mallard Junction Park, 599 August St., Lake Charles.

The movie features Mabel Tanaka, an animal-loving college student who uses experimental "hopping" technology to transfer her consciousness into a robotic beaver. She does this to communicate with animals and unite them to save her beloved local forest from being bulldozed for an incoming freeway. Hoppers is Rated PG.

The movie will start at 6:30 p.m. but be sure to get there early to get the best spots. Residents are encouraged to bring their own blankets, lawn chairs and food. Free popcorn and cotton candy will be served at each event.

The movie will be canceled in the event of inclement weather. A cancellation will be announced before the event on the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury’s website at calcasieu.gov and on CPPJ’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
